A School Backpack is Already Tried and Tested.
If your child has a great backpack, they use every day for school, the bag is already tried and tested. As they their school bag every day they will already be familiar with how to pack and carry it. They will know what they can fit inside it and how to pack it. You will already know it fits well with adjustable fittings pre-set and ready to go and it is comfortable to carry for prolonged periods of time. As its tried and tested you know you won’t have any worries about wheels or handles breaking or bags not fitting in storage spaces on transport.
Backpacks Are Less Stressful When Time is Tight.
Have you tried to hurry a child pulling their own trolley bag? Or a child totally distracted riding their cool wheel-based suitcase? Speaking from experience, moving from A to B in a busy airport or train station is so much easier and quicker when a child is carrying a backpack, than having to wait for a child to navigate themselves and their wheel-based suitcase through a busy airport, train station etc. They are also easier to hold on to as they have free hands if they are younger, and you need to keep them close by.
A Kids Backpack Means Less Chance of Bags or Belongings Getting Lost.
There is less chance of belongings getting lost or the bag being lost. As they use the bag for school, they have already developed the habit of looking after their bag and making sure they don’t loose their belongings. There isn’t any new learning curve required as the bag is familiar. There aren’t any new habits of packing and carrying their bag to learn. When using their school bag to travel children will be more inclined to follow the same habits they use at school – “It’s either on your body or in your bag!” There is also less chance of a backpack being lost if it is on their back!
Kids Backpacks are Easier for Parents to Carry.
Kids of all ages always get tired far more than they do at home when travelling. This often means the adults always end up carrying their children’s bags far more than they had planned to, in addition to their own carry-on bags, and sometimes in addition to a tired child. Remember these fancy wheel-based bags are designed for children to pull with very short handles or for children to ride. These bags are not designed with comfortable straps and handles for adults to carry! Even the smallest children’s backpacks can be carried on adult shoulders, or an arm to help get you all from A to B.
Remember you won’t always have access to lifts and escalators when moving luggage and children between stops and sometimes you just need to hold on to children in busy airports and train station. A child wearing a backpack will have free hands to hold on to you.
Kids Backpacks Don’t Sit in the Hotel.
A kid’s backpack can be used when you get to your destination. You don’t need to pack extra bags for using on day trips out and about, going to the beach or pool and shopping trips! Kids can carry their own swimming togs, towel, and belongings in their own bag. Wheel based bags serve a great purpose for getting things from A to B, however they are rarely of any use when you get to your destination and then they just sit in the hotel room for the duration of the trip until it’s time to go home.

The seat pockets on planes never seem to fit everything a child needs near them for a flight. A kid’s school bag will fit everything they need for a short or long-haul flight and will easily to fit under the seat in front of them for quick and easy access to their things during the flight. Not only will this be much less stressful for children who don’t like flying, suffer from anxiety, or don’t like having their belonging out of sight, it will also mean you won’t have to keep opening overhead lockers to get their belongings for them. Speaking from experience this can prevent breakdowns when they want that favourite cuddly toy which has been accidently left in the overhead locker and cannot be accessed during take off and landing!
Spend Money on Memories Not Bags!
